| The Consulate General of the Netherlands in Shanghai |
The Netherlands Consulate General in Shanghai focuses on the Chinese provinces of Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui. Its main activities lie in the field of trade and investment promotion, acting as an intermediary and providing relevant information to Dutch and Chinese companies and governmental institutions. The Consulate has an economic division, consisting of four people, with an extensive network of business relations and data resources in both China and the Netherlands.

For co-operation in the important area of port development and infrastructure, a special representative of the Netherlands Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management has been assigned tothe Consulate. This expert maintains intensive contacts with Chinese parties from the government and the private sector, exchanging knowledge, policies and experiences. The focus of this co-operation is on logistical training, port management, container handling technologies, water management consultancy, environmental issues, innovations in the dredging sector, designing & modelling, water purification systems and traffic management. |

Rotterdam Commercial Representative Office Shanghai (RCRO) |
The RCRO was established in 1987 inShanghai as a joint initiative of the Port of Rotterdam, The Rotterdam Chamber of Commerce, the RotterdamMunicipality and the Rotterdam business community. The RCRO having both Dutch and Chinese personnel, acts as the permanent representation of the Port of Rotterdam in Shanghai. Besides that it helps Dutch companies with business development in Shanghai: For this purpose it can offer services such as consultancy, market research and representation. RCRO serves companies and organizations in the field of transport, logistics, shipping, port construction, chemicals and shipbuilding.

RCRO also acts as the foothold for the Sister City Relationship that exists between Shanghai and Rotterdam for 23 years. Because of this relationship and because ofthe extensive relationship networks of our Chinese personnel, RCRO's main asset is its excellent connections on all business and government levels in Shanghai. |
